Designer Goals

So today there was a big review of all of these projects done by the art and design students at NC State. Their works were pinned up in the hallway and also featured elaborate set-ups that showed off some of their 3-D stuff. Basically it was beautiful. And I want to be them. I want to steal their skills and creativity and awesomeness because all of their stuff was just that great. I happened upon two particular works that really caught my eye and took a picture of. They are breathtaking and I really couldn't be more proud of the two people that made them. It takes a beautiful mind to make such things. A beautiful mind that I wish I had. But I just wanted to showcase these because I think they deserve to be shown off. I've included the links to the websites of the designers as well, so you should definitely check them out!

This one I also included because I love the powerful message that is behind it. When people complain about how wind turbines are ugly they really should take a step back and imagine how ugly our world could get without them. The visual appeal of wind turbines is by far the least of our problems.

☺︎ Welcome ☺︎

HeLLo!¡

Welcome to my brand new blog! I'm super excited about this. I had another blog but I feel like it turned into something that I didn't necessarily like, as when I was posting I tried to gear my posts to things that I had seen on other blogs and it ultimately became hard to try to fit my thoughts into that mold I had created. And so, I decided to make a new blog with absolutely no rules, and give myself the freedom to express anything and everything that I'm feeling, liking, making, creating, listening to, etc. All without the fear of not fitting my thoughts into a certain construct, and hopefully without the judgement of random internet goers that just happen to stumble upon my blog. (Which probably won't actually happen so I'm not really worried about that). I literally feel like I'm talking to myself?? This is weird. ANYWAY.

So basic facts about me: I'm a 20 year old college student, currently attending North Carolina State University. I am a design studies major but I'm applying to the graphic design program in January so hopefully I'll be majoring in that by next year if I get in! Btw, I just got into this whole design thing last winter so no, I do not have a bunch of cool projects to show off and no, I don't even know how to work Adobe Photoshop or any of those other fancy editing tools. I suck at art. I come to creative roadblocks more than I am actually creative. So there's that. I'm just really hoping that I can learn to be amazingly creative? We'll see how that goes! I'm hoping for the best at least :) However, I would say I'm doing pretty great things as a designer for my school's yearbook. *flips hair* I also work at a coffee shop, love to make things on Polyvore.com (you've probs never heard of it, go check it out if you're into fashion/design or you're just bored), read other blogs, discover new music, and of course, watch Netflix/Hulu. Right now I'm currently watching Scream Queens, which is SO great. Funny, scary, and filled with celebs. 100% recommend.

Since right now I don't have a ton of time (I'm actually supposed to be doing homework whoops), I'll just give you a list of some of my current favorite things so you know a little bit more about me, and can entertain yourself with what I am obsessed with.
Favorite song: Love Yourself x Justin Bieber (his new album is GOLD. I am in love)
Favorite movie: Interstellar (always.)
Favorite TV show: Scream Queens
Favorite Netflix addiction: Parks & Rec (literally can watch this for the rest of my life)
Favorite quote: "When you do something beautiful and nobody notices, do not be sad. For the sunrise is a beautiful spectacle and yet most of the audience still sleeps" - John Lennon
Favorite blog: thesugarhit.com (I am obsessed with food blogs sorry not sorry)
Favorite Instagram account: @lokistagram (I'm also obsessed with corgi accounts)

Okay that's all for now! I really have to go do work :( But I promise I will back soon, and will post regularly. As I'm just getting started on this blog I'm probably just going to be posting random things that I like and writing out my thoughts for the day. Maybe it will turn into something cool one day. But I hope it will be at least a little interesting to any curious readers out there!

Have a fabulous day!
